Full uninstall (wipe all data)
You’ll remove the Structura plugin from your WordPress site and permanently delete everything it has stored — campaigns, personas, logs, encrypted AI provider keys, and settings. There is no undo.
If you’re unsure, do a Standard uninstall (keep data) first. You can always come back and do a full wipe later.
When this is what you want
- You’re leaving Structura and won’t return.
- You’re migrating to a different site or a clean install and don’t want the old data mingling with the new.
- You’re handing the site off to someone else and don’t want your campaigns, personas, or logs coming along.
- Regulatory or privacy requirement to remove all plugin data from the database.
When this is not what you want
- You’re troubleshooting and hoping a fresh install fixes things. Try Standard uninstall (keep data) first — that already removes the plugin files and lets you reinstall without losing work.
- You’re temporarily moving Structura off this site. Standard uninstall is the right choice.
Before you start
This is the point where you’d back anything up you want to keep. Structura itself doesn’t offer an export for every artifact, but a few things are worth capturing:
- Personas (Social Architects). Copy the bio and tone of each persona you care about into a document. There’s no one-click export.
- Campaign definitions. The interview text, keyword lists, and authority sources for campaigns you might want to re-create later.
- Generated posts. These are regular WordPress posts and live in
the WordPress
poststable, which is not part of the Structura wipe. They stay. Still, it’s a good moment to confirm you’re happy with what’s been published.
You should also decide whether to deactivate your license on this site through the portal first; see License keys & site activations. Full uninstall will release the activation server-side either way, but doing it from the portal first gives you explicit control.
Steps
-
In WordPress admin, go to Structura → Settings.
-
On the General Settings page, scroll to the Data Persistence card (the “danger zone”).
-
Turn on Wipe all data on uninstall. The toggle flips to the active (highlighted) state.
-
Click Save Changes at the bottom. A “Syncing…” indicator appears, then a success toast confirms the save.
At this point, nothing has been deleted yet. You’ve just told Structura: “when you’re uninstalled, take everything with you.”
-
Go to Plugins → Installed Plugins.
-
Find Structura in the list.
-
Click Deactivate. Confirm in the dialog.
-
Click Delete next to Structura on the same Plugins page.
-
Confirm the deletion in the WordPress dialog.
WordPress removes the plugin files from disk, and because the “Wipe all data on uninstall” toggle was on, Structura’s uninstall routine also drops its database tables. Everything Structura stored in WordPress is gone.
What gets deleted
Campaigns. Every campaign you created — interview text, strategy, keywords, authority sources, schedule, all runs’ history.
Personas (Social Architects). Every persona, including their bios and tone guidance.
Logs. Every entry on the System Logs page, regardless of age or retention setting.
Settings. Global art direction, log retention preferences, license key value, custom AI provider configuration.
Encrypted AI provider keys. The OpenAI, Gemini, or Anthropic API keys you saved on Structura → Settings → AI Engine are encrypted at rest. Full uninstall removes them from the database. You will need to re-enter them if you reinstall.
WordPress options Structura writes. A small number of wp_options
entries used for plugin bookkeeping.
What does NOT get deleted
Published posts. Everything Structura wrote stays as regular WordPress posts. If you want those gone too, delete them from Posts → All Posts yourself — they’re indistinguishable from hand-written posts at this point.
WordPress’s own data. Users, media library, other plugins, themes — untouched.
Structura cloud-side data. Your license record, billing history, and channel connection metadata live on the Structura cloud and are governed by the privacy policy. Full uninstall does not cancel your subscription or delete your portal account — see Signing in, signing out and Subscription & plan for those actions.
Channel connections on the cloud. Your LinkedIn, Slack, Discord etc. connections still exist in the portal. You can connect them to a different site or remove them individually from the portal.
License activation. Full uninstall automatically releases this site’s activation server-side, so if you reinstall on a different site you won’t need to manually deactivate this one. If you want to verify, check License keys & site activations.
After the uninstall
- Your WordPress admin no longer has a Structura menu.
- No scheduled tasks for Structura will fire.
- Already-published posts are still live. Delete them from WordPress if you want them gone too.
- Your Structura portal account, subscription, and channel connections all continue to exist independently. Manage them from app.structurawp.com .
If you change your mind
You can reinstall Structura and set up fresh. Your portal account, subscription, and channel connections are still there — you’ll get a clean plugin-side slate but keep everything cloud-side. See Install the plugin.
If you want to cancel your subscription too, see Subscription & plan.
