Upgrading, downgrading, cancelling
You can switch plans or cancel any time from the Subscription page. There’s no support ticket required and no lock-in.
Open app.structurawp.com → your avatar → Subscription → Change plan.
Upgrading
Going from Free → Pro, Pro → Cloud, Cloud → Agency — all of these are upgrades.
- On the Subscription page, click Change plan.
- Pick the new plan.
- Review the prorated charge — for mid-cycle upgrades, Stripe bills only the unused remainder of the current period at the new rate.
- Click Confirm upgrade.
What happens immediately:
- The new plan’s features become available. For example, upgrading to Cloud enables the cloud-managed AI setup; you can switch to it next time you save Structura → Settings → AI Engine.
- The new plan’s activation limit takes effect.
- Billing for the remainder of the period is prorated.
- The next full renewal on the renewal date is at the new plan’s price.
A few specific upgrade cases:
- Free → Pro (BYOK): you keep bringing your own API keys. Pro adds Visuals (Pro), SEO Automation, and the Integrations Store. See BYOK vs Cloud — which to pick.
- Pro → Cloud: Structura starts handling AI provider billing on your behalf and you no longer need to maintain your own keys. You can keep BYOK if you want — Cloud is additive.
- Cloud → Agency: unlocks the multi-site pool and agency-only surfaces. See Agency — managing multiple sites.
Downgrading
Going to a less-expensive plan — Cloud → Pro, Agency → Cloud, anything → Free.
- On the Subscription page, click Change plan.
- Pick the new plan.
- Review the effect: downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep the current plan’s features until then. No proration, no refund.
- Click Confirm downgrade.
What you’ll see:
- The Subscription page now shows: “Downgrading to Pro on YYYY-MM-DD.”
- You can cancel the downgrade any time before that date — click Undo on the banner.
- On the effective date, the plan switches. Features specific to the old plan stop working (e.g., Cloud AI if you downgrade to Pro; you’ll need to re-enter BYOK keys).
Site activations after a downgrade. If your old plan allowed more activations than the new plan, and you’re currently using more than the new plan allows, Structura doesn’t automatically pick which to deactivate. You do — from License keys & site activations. Until you deactivate down to the limit, no new activations will succeed on the new plan.
AI keys after a Cloud → Pro downgrade. You’ll need to re-enter your own OpenAI / Gemini / Anthropic key on each site’s Structura → Settings → AI Engine. Cloud-handled generation stops; BYOK generation resumes. See AI settings.
Cancelling
- On the Subscription page, click Change plan → Cancel plan (or the Cancel subscription link directly).
- We’ll ask for an optional reason — this is genuinely how we learn what’s not working; skip if you’d rather.
- Confirm.
What happens:
- Cancellation is scheduled for the end of the current billing period. You keep the plan’s features until then.
- You won’t be charged again.
- On the effective date, your account returns to the Free plan. You don’t lose your portal account or your campaigns — the plugin just operates on Free-plan rules from then on.
- Site activations beyond Free’s single-site limit stop working; deactivate extras from License keys.
Refunds. Cancellation is end-of-period, so no refund is needed in the common case. If you cancelled the same day you charged (and before meaningfully using the plan), email support — we review those on a case-by-case basis.
Reactivating a cancelled plan. Before the effective date, click Undo cancellation on the Subscription banner. After the effective date, just pick the plan again from Change plan; it resumes on the next billing cycle.
Cancelling your account entirely
Cancelling the plan doesn’t delete your account — the portal account and any site activations remain on the Free tier. To fully close the account, see the “Deleting your account” section of Your profile.
What cancellation does NOT do
- Does not delete WordPress content. Every post Structura wrote is a regular WordPress post — they stay live on your site.
- Does not uninstall the plugin. Uninstall is separate, in wp-admin. See Standard uninstall (keep data).
- Does not delete cloud channel connections. They remain tied to your account so upgrading later picks up where you left off.
