Search performance & opportunities
The Search performance page is your site’s search dashboard in the customer portal — open a site and pick Search performance in the side navigation. It shows how all your content is doing in Google Search and, more importantly, which posts are worth improving next.
What’s on the page
- Headline numbers and trend — clicks, impressions, CTR, and average position for the last 28 days (switchable to 90 days or 12 months), with a daily chart. Lower position is better — position 3 means third result — so changes read “1.6 better” rather than a plus or minus number.
- Opportunities — the heart of the page; see below.
- Posts table — every post Structura manages, sortable by clicks, change, impressions, or position, each linking to its own Analytics tab. Pages Structura didn’t publish (your homepage, category pages) are summarized in one “Other pages on your site” row.
How opportunities work
Every morning, after fresh Google data lands, Structura re-checks all your posts and queues the ones where a small effort is likely to earn real traffic:
- Striking distance — the post ranks just off page 1 (positions 5–20) for a search people actually make. A small improvement often reaches page 1, where most clicks happen.
- Low CTR — the post ranks well but wins far fewer clicks than its spot usually earns. A sharper title and description is the usual fix.
- Uncovered query — Google shows the post for a search it never actually addresses. Adding a section on that topic can win the ranking.
- Decay — a post that was earning clicks has dropped substantially. A refresh usually recovers it.
- Cannibalization — two of your posts split the same search, so Google ranks neither well. Point them at different queries, or consolidate.
- Not indexed — a post published more than two weeks ago that Google still hasn’t added to its index. It can’t earn traffic until it is; internal links from strong pages usually help.
Each opportunity explains its evidence in plain language and links straight to the post’s editor. Dismiss anything you’ve decided not to act on — it moves to the dismissed list (restorable anytime) and stays out of the queue until the situation changes.
When the queue is empty, that’s the win state: all posts are pulling their weight, and the morning re-check will surface anything new.
Common issues
- The page says “Collecting your search data.” Normal right after connecting — first numbers usually appear within a couple of days (Google reports with a ~2-day delay).
- A post shows in the table but has no opportunities. Good — nothing about it needs attention.
- The connection expired. Your numbers pause but nothing is lost; click Reconnect and sign in to Google again.
