Edit a campaign

You’ll update a running campaign’s configuration in place and understand how your changes take effect. You can edit almost anything about a campaign after it’s been launched — keywords, schedule, persona, AI settings, even the name.

Before you start

  • The campaign must exist. Find it under Structura → Campaigns.
  • It doesn’t need to be paused. You can edit active campaigns without stopping them, though see How changes take effect below — some changes behave differently mid-run.

Steps

  1. In WordPress admin, go to Structura → Campaigns.
  2. Click the campaign’s card to open its detail view.
  3. Click Edit in the top-right.
  4. You’ll see the same six-step form as campaign creation — except the Interview step is skipped (you already answered it), and the current values are pre-filled.
  5. Navigate to the step you want to change via the stepper at the top. Edit freely.
  6. When finished, click Save (or Launch Campaign if it’s your first save).

What you can edit

Strategy. Change the campaign name, objective, or mode at any time. Changing the mode doesn’t automatically re-run research — your keywords and authority sources stay until you touch them.

Keywords. Add, remove, or edit individual keywords. Use Re-discover to regenerate the whole list (destructive — current list is replaced). See Review & override keyword research.

Authority sources. Same controls as Keywords. See Review & override authority links.

Rhythm. Change the posting schedule. The scheduler picks up the new cadence immediately.

AI settings (Advanced). Switch AI providers, adjust emoji or long-dash handling, toggle image generation, change content blocks or SEO directives.

Persona. Swap the persona the campaign writes in. You can pick any persona from Personas; changing it affects the next scheduled post.

Taxonomy. Change the WordPress categories or tags that new posts get assigned to.

How changes take effect

Changes apply to the next scheduled run. Anything already in the queue or mid-generation keeps the settings it started with.

If you want a change to take effect immediately on a specific post:

  1. Edit the campaign and save.
  2. Use Generate Post to run a one-off with the new settings. See Running a campaign manually.

What you can’t edit

Creation date. For the record.

Post history. You can’t retroactively change the configuration that produced past posts. If you regret a persona or keyword choice you had in effect last month, the posts from that period keep their original settings. Going forward is what the edit affects.

Pausing before large edits

You can edit a running campaign without pausing, but for major overhauls — switching modes, re-doing the whole keyword list, swapping AI providers — consider pausing first:

  1. From the campaign detail view, click Pause.
  2. Make your edits.
  3. Click Resume when done.

This avoids a post going out during your edit that’s inconsistent with either the old config or the new one. See Pause or delete a campaign.

Common issues

Save fails with “invalid keyword.” One of the keywords contains characters Structura can’t handle (unusual punctuation, very long phrases). Trim the keyword and retry.

I can’t find the campaign I want to edit. Use the Hide completed (N) toggle on the Campaigns list. Completed campaigns are hidden by default.

My edits didn’t show up on the next post. Check the timestamp on the post in question. If it was generated before you saved the edit, it used the old settings. The post after that one should reflect the change.
