Activate your license
You’ll connect your WordPress site to your Structura account by pasting in your license key. This is what unlocks scheduled tasks, Cloud AI, and the Channels Store.
Every Structura account has a license key — Free, BYOK, Cloud, and Cloud
Pro alike. It looks like ST-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX regardless of tier or
audience (Individual, Agency). The one state without a key is
Anonymous Mode: a freshly installed plugin that has never been
connected to an account. In Anonymous Mode you can open Structura’s pages
and look around, but nothing that needs the cloud will run.
Which path are you on?
You’ve most likely arrived here one of two ways. Pick the matching path:
- From your dashboard at app.structurawp.com (for example, via the View Activation Guide button). You already have an account and a license key — it’s shown under 2. Activate Site on your dashboard. Go to I already have a key.
- From a fresh plugin install (Anonymous Mode). You don’t have an account yet. Go to I just installed the plugin to create one — the Free tier costs nothing and still issues you a key.
I already have a key
Your key is waiting on your app dashboard under 2. Activate Site.
- On your dashboard at app.structurawp.com, click the copy icon next
to your key (
ST-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX). - In WordPress admin, click Structura in the sidebar and choose Account & License.
- Paste the key into the License Key field and click Connect Account.
- The plugin opens a browser tab at app.structurawp.com to verify your account. Sign in (by magic link, Google, or GitHub) if you’re asked, then return to the WordPress tab — it refreshes automatically.
- The hero card now shows your tier — Registered Architect (Free), BYOK Architect, Cloud Architect, or Cloud Pro Architect — and the masked key appears in the Activation card with a green shield icon.

I just installed the plugin
A brand-new install starts in Anonymous Mode — no account, no key. The first time you open Structura, the Setup wizard opens with a Welcome to Structura screen asking for your license key — if you already have one, paste it there, click Connect, and you’re done.
If you don’t have a key yet, create an account first; the Free tier costs nothing and still issues you a key:
- On the wizard’s welcome screen, click Create your free account (or open Structura → Account & License and click Connect Account). The plugin opens app.structurawp.com in a new browser tab.
- Sign up with email (magic link), Google, or GitHub. Choose the Free tier if you’re just trying Structura out — you can upgrade later.
- Your new dashboard shows your license key under 2. Activate Site. Copy it.
- Back in the WordPress tab, paste the key into the License Key field and click Connect (on the wizard’s welcome screen) or Connect Account (on Account & License). The hero card turns coloured once the key verifies.
The Free tier has a key too. Connecting on Free gives you the Registered Architect title and a useful subset of Structura (headings, featured images, scheduled tasks) using your own AI provider keys. Upgrade at any time from Account & License, or from the account menu on the plugin’s plan badge in the header.
What happens next
Your site now counts as one activation on your license. If you’re on an Agency-grid plan — BYOK Agency, Cloud Agency, or Cloud Pro Agency — you can activate multiple sites under one bill; the slot counter is at Your Account → Managing your subscription in the portal.
Scheduled tasks and Cloud AI are enabled as soon as your hero card turns coloured. You can close the portal tab — daily operation happens inside wp-admin.
Next, choose the AI provider that will write your posts: Connect your AI provider.
Common issues
The page keeps saying “Anonymous Mode” after I pasted my key.
The license-key check runs in the cloud, so a browser ad-blocker or a
hosting firewall that blocks outbound HTTPS to structurawp.com can
interrupt the handshake. Disable ad-blockers for wp-admin and confirm
your host allows outbound HTTPS to *.structurawp.com.
“Your license is currently inactive.” The key exists but has been deactivated (usually because a subscription lapsed). Go to app.structurawp.com → Billing & Subscriptions and check the status. If it shows Past Due, update your payment method. If it still doesn’t activate after a working payment, see Contacting support.
“This key has reached its site limit.” Every plan has a per-key maximum site count. Go to app.structurawp.com → My Subscription and deactivate a domain you’re no longer using, or upgrade your plan to add more seats. See License keys & site activations.
