Upgrading, downgrading, cancelling
You change your posts per site, your site count or your subscription itself from the Billing page in the customer portal, and you see the exact charge or credit before you confirm. There’s no support ticket required and no lock-in.
Open app.structurawp.com → Billing. Only the payer of the workspace’s subscription can make these changes; see Managing your subscription.
Upgrading from Free
On the Free plan, the Billing page lists the paid plans. Pick BYOK or Cloud (and, on Cloud, 30 or 100 posts per site per month), then pay in Stripe’s checkout. The new plan applies as soon as the payment goes through.
Changing volume or site count
On a paid plan, Change subscription opens a two-step editor: Choose changes, then Review changes. The Change volume and Change site count links on the Billing page open the same editor with that field selected.
- On the Billing page, click Change subscription.
- Choose the new Posts per site per month (Cloud only: 30 or 100) and the number of Sites on your subscription. The Subscription estimate shows the recurring price before tax and discounts.
- Click Review changes. Stripe calculates what changes today: Due today for an upgrade, or Credit added to your account for a change that costs less, plus your Next renewal.
- Confirm with Confirm and pay {amount}, Confirm change and credit or Confirm changes, whichever the review shows.
Your billing schedule stays as it is: a monthly subscription stays monthly and a yearly one stays yearly.
What happens next:
- The change applies right after you confirm and any payment goes through. You pay only for the rest of the current period at the new price.
- The Billing page shows Updating your subscription for a moment while your new allowance reaches your sites, then Your subscription is updated.
- If your bank asks you to approve the payment, the page shows Complete payment to apply this change. Your current plan stays in place until you click Complete payment and approve it on Stripe.
- Your usage so far this month stays as it is. A change never resets it.
Moving to fewer posts or fewer sites works the same way. The unused part of your current period becomes a credit on your Stripe account that pays future invoices; it is not a refund to your card. If some sites have already used more posts this month than the lower allowance, the review lists them: they pause new posts until the allowance resets on the first of next month (UTC). Posts they already published stay.
Fewer sites than you have connected. The editor won’t let you go below the sites connected right now. Disconnect sites first, from Manage sites, then come back to the editor.
25 sites or more. From 25 sites the editor shows Contact sales instead of a review; your current subscription stays as it is.
When the editor is not available. The Billing page doesn’t offer a change while a payment is outstanding, while a change waits for payment, while the subscription is set to end, or for a custom agreement. Fix the payment or resume the subscription first, or contact support for custom terms.
Changes that go through support
These aren’t self-serve yet. Contact support and say which plan you want:
- Switching between BYOK and Cloud. See BYOK vs Cloud — which to pick.
- Switching between monthly and yearly billing.
- Changing your billing currency.
Cancelling
Cancelling stops the subscription at the end of the current billing period. You keep your plan until then and can change your mind.
- At the bottom of the Billing page, click Cancel subscription.
- The next page shows the date your access ends and what stops.
- Click Cancel on {date} to confirm, or Keep subscription to go back without changing anything.
What happens:
- The Billing page shows Canceling and “Your subscription is set to end on {date}.” You won’t be charged again.
- Any outstanding invoices remain due. Cancelling does not issue a refund.
- When the subscription ends, its paid features and managed generation stop. Your published posts remain on your sites, and your portal account stays.
Resuming before the end date. Click Resume subscription on the Billing page. A dialog shows your next renewal date and amount; confirm with Resume subscription and the subscription continues as before. After the end date, start a new subscription instead.
Cancelling your account entirely
Cancelling the plan doesn’t delete your account — the portal account and your workspace remain. To fully close the account, see the “Deleting your account” section of Your profile.
What cancellation does NOT do
- Does not delete WordPress content. Every post Structura wrote is a regular WordPress post — they stay live on your site.
- Does not uninstall the plugin. Uninstall is separate, in wp-admin. See Standard uninstall (keep data).
- Does not delete cloud channel connections. They remain tied to your account so upgrading later picks up where you left off.
Common issues
The Change subscription button is missing
Only the payer sees it, and only while a change is possible. If the page shows Billing is managed by your payer, ask the person who pays for the workspace. If a payment is outstanding, update the payment method or pay the open invoice first.
My site count went down but my bill didn’t
Disconnecting a site frees its slot but doesn’t change what you pay. Lower Sites on your subscription in the editor to pay for fewer sites.
