The Email channel sends a short plain-text email to an address you choose whenever Structura publishes a post or holds one for your review. It is sent from Structura’s own mail service, so it works the same on WordPress and headless sites and does not depend on your site being able to send mail.
It is the lowest-friction channel in the store: no account to link, no keys, no webhook. Pick a recipient address and connect.
What gets sent
One email per qualifying post:
- For a published post, the subject is “New post published:” followed by the title. The body links to the live post.
- For a post held for review (campaigns set to save posts as pending or draft), the subject is “Draft needs review:” followed by the title. The body links to the editor so you can approve it.
- When a published post has open source-check notes, the subject becomes “New post published, 2 to review:” with the count, and the body adds an editor link.
The email contains the title and the link, nothing else. No excerpt, no images, no HTML layout.
Emails come from Structura <noreply@mail.structurawp.com>. The language
of the subject and body follows the Notification language setting
below.
Connect
- Go to Structura → Channels in wp-admin, or your site’s Channels tab in the portal .
- Click the Email card.
- Enter the Recipient email. Any address works; it does not have to be the WordPress admin email or your Structura login.
- Optionally give the connection a Display name. It is only a label in your Connections list, useful when you add more than one address.
- Pick a Notification language. “Match the post language” writes the email in the language of each post. Or pin it to English, German, Spanish or French.
- Choose which Campaigns should trigger it. “All campaigns” is the default; untick it to pick specific ones.
- Set Send every nth post if you only want an occasional nudge. Leave it at 1 to be told about every post. Review posts count toward the cadence as well.
- Click Connect. The channel is active at once. No test email is sent; the first email arrives with the next qualifying post.
To notify several people, add the channel again with a different recipient address. Each connection has its own language, campaigns and cadence.
Changing the recipient
Open the connection from the Connections list and edit the address, or remove it and add a new one. The change applies from the next post.
Common issues
The email went to spam
Add noreply@mail.structurawp.com to your contacts or safe-sender list.
Structura’s sending domain is authenticated with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, so
this is rare, but shared inboxes with strict filters sometimes need the
hint.
Nothing arrives, but the channel shows a successful dispatch
If an address bounced or a recipient reported a Structura email as spam, Structura stops sending to that address to protect deliverability for everyone. The channel still records the dispatch as sent. Check the address for typos first, then contact support to have it reinstated.
I expected a review email but got a published one
The email mirrors the campaign’s post-status setting. A campaign set to publish immediately sends “New post published” emails; a campaign set to pending or draft sends “Draft needs review” emails. Change the setting on the campaign, not on the channel.
Where to see what was sent
The Channels page lists recent dispatches per connection. The campaign’s run detail shows the same result on its Channels step. See Channel activity & errors.
